A healthcare power of attorney or a healthcare surrogate is a document that lets someone else make healthcare decisions for you if you are incapacitated and typically people name a primary healthcare surrogate and one or more backups. This is very important because this is a very tragic time of life where you’re not able to make decisions for yourself and someone has to be close by to make those decisions for you. So a healthcare surrogate is a very important part of any estate plan.
