A Revocable Trust, as the main part of your estate plan, offers several benefits. One is that any property in the trust at your death avoids the probate process. A trust is also a much more private arrangement than a will. It’s also much more secure for disability benefits and really one of the primary benefits of using a trust in your estate planning is that you have much greater control about how your assets are used after death, especially for minors or maybe other individuals who are incompetent or just can’t manage property themselves. There are other forms of trusts as well, irrevocable trusts that are used for asset protection planning and gift tax planning as well.
